Chail, the former 'summer capital' of Patiala, is 43-km from Shimla and dwelling in the midst of a lush green setting. At 2,250m, it has the world's highest cricket pitch and a polo ground, the old palace, now a hotel and the possibility of some angling are added attractions.
Chail,the sleepy hamlet, is spread over three hills. It is a trekker's paradise.
If you happen to be a nature lover, or an outdoors kind of person, Chail will offer the combined attractions of Paris, Milan and Switzerland.
A dozen or so trek routes lead out of Chail, all the way to Shimla and the Choor peak.
